Henry V of England

Reign: 1413 – 1422
Life: 1386–1422

Henry V is considered by many to be one of England's greatest warrior-kings. At sixteen years old, during the Battle of Shrewsbury, he survived an arrow shot to the face that lodged six inches deep in his skull. Later, he revived the Hundred Years' War against France, winning the legendary Battle of Agincourt in 1415 against overwhelming odds. He forced the French king to sign the Treaty of Troyes, a document which named Henry as the heir to the throne of France. However, at just 35, two months before he would have inherited the French crown, he died of dysentery.

During Henry V of England's reign, John I of Portugal ruled Portugal, Ashikaga Yoshimochi ruled Japan (Shogunate), and Mehmed I ruled Ottoman Empire.
